Stinky
11 Apr
The kids and I arrived in Arizona safe and sound, but unfortunately not healthy. Kaisa got car sick and threw up 7 times in the car, and another 3 yesterday. Luckily, she hasn’t yet today so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that the worst is over.
Anyway, I cleaned her car seat very thoroughly and it still REEKS of barf. Anyone have a proven way to get the barf smell out of a car seat? I would love your suggestions!

I’m not positive that this will work with a car seat, but it works on all my girls’ clothes. (Elizabeth spent the first year and a half barfing on everything she wore) Fill a large bucket with hot water (as hot as will come out of the tap), 1/2 cup Cascade, and 1/2 cup Clorox II. Soak the car seat cover in this over night and then stick it in the washing machine with your regular detergent the next day. Let it sit out to dry. Good Luck! Hey, if you drive through Vegas on your way home stop in and say hi!
baking soda and water may help.
Peter suggests you put gas on it. If that doesn’t overwhelm the smell, then toss in a match. Those are his exact words not mine.
Hi Fiona, There’s this stuff called Kids ‘n Pets. I found mine at walmart. It’s a Big bottle that has a pull top like a water bottle top. It’s yellow. When my kids were puking a couple weeks ago my whole house stunk. This stuff is amazing. You pour it on the area and you just let it air dry. You don’t have to scrub or anything. I would think it would work on a carseat. It works fabulous and the carpet doesn’t stink at all anymore!!!
