A Gift For You!

23 Feb

I saw this on my friend Rachelle’s blog and it looked like fun!

Repost this to your own blog and offer the same thing to your first 5 responders.
The first 5 who repost it to their own blog will get something made by me! My choice. For you!
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make
2.What I create will be just for you.
3. It’ll be done this year-no guarantees on when this year, but sometime in 2009!
4. You have no clue what it’s going to be. the possibilities are endless.
5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange (but I won’t…it’ll be something good. :))

The first 5 people post this on their blog and leave a me comment telling me they did, win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it! Sounds like fun right?!? So let’s PLAY!

Nickels

20 Feb

Last week when I got home from the hospital, I was nursing Everett on the couch and had various supplies surrounding me (Boppy, water bottle, burb cloth, etc.) and among them was a tube of Lansinoh.  Kaisa picked it up and this conversation ensued:Lansinoh

Kaisa: I want lotion!

Me: No, honey, that’s special lotion for mommy’s nipples.

Kaisa: Mommy’s nickels?

Me: (Trying hard not to laugh) Yes, honey, mommy’s nickels.

Ah, the joys of parenthood!

My Birth Story

12 Feb

Here is the short version.  For the long version, complete with all the details, go here:

Stage 1

Stage 2

Stage 3 & Postpartum

I went into labor around 3am on Monday after a rousing night of Killer Bunnies & the Journey to Jupiter.  We arrived at the hospital Monday morning around 8:45am and I was 6cm and 100% effaced.  I birthed 9 lb. 13 oz. Everett into the world naturally at 11:51am, with no drugs or stitches!  My recovery was pretty scary at first…lots of pain and high blood pressure, but luckily by 3:00 that afternoon I was doing much better and I have felt great ever since!  Thanks everyone for your support and well wishes by email, phone, blog, etc.  I am, needless to say, extremely happy not to be pregnant and to finally have my precious boy here!

Baby’s First Portrait

11 Feb

Our first little boyEveryone loves new baby pictures, and you are no exception. We’ll post more this weekend (hopefully including some video) so come back soon. This picture is taken by Debbie for Hospital Portraits. Fiona wanted me to point out this is a 5-7  pound hat (not the hat itself — it’s made for a five to seven pound baby), so it’s a little snug.  He’s very cute and Debbie even managed to get him to open his usually sleepy eyes.

Fiona and new baby boy are doing well and coming home this afternoon.
